It is very possible to fade out of leadership. A man’s public relevance can expire when he does not observe the one principle that keeps people in significant leadership. It is also possible to be out of a leadership position and keep leading, because true leadership is not a function of appointments and elections. So how do you Remain in Leadership?
1 Chron. 12:32- “And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment”
Because problems come and go, Leadership is season-conscious. This means people lead when they understand the problems facing humanity in a season and have the solutions to the problems being faced. Some years back, we had TV, Radio and Print media; and the professionals in these areas where the leading consultants to look out for. But over the past years, since the launch and boom of Social Media, twitter and facebook have taken the lead in global media news.
You lead when you understand the problems of a season and possess the solutions to the problems in that season. Then the key to remain in leadership regardless of changing seasons is, staying abreast of changing trends and emerging problems of humanity in your field; and developing contemporary solutions to meet emerging needs. When you know how to reinvent and re-brand yourself to meet contemporary needs, you stay “hot” in the market. When you stay relevant with changing seasons, you remain in leadership.
