Happy New Year! Welcome to 2020: our Year of HARVEST. Revelation 14:15-16 declares, “And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped”.
2020 is strategic in God’s agenda for Global Evangelistic Open Doors. The Gospel will experience free access to the unreached places of the earth, and areas that have formerly been known for resisting the Gospel, will be more open to evangelistic works. I personally believe that 2020 will usher us into the very return of Jesus, because the preaching of the Gospel in every part of the earth is what He waits, before He returns; Matthew 24:14. Definitely, this new Decade could birth His Return. We must all stay and live prepared.
God’s people will move into unreached nations, operating in the Spirit of Wisdom, with Diverse Strategies for Harvesting different fields of the earth. “Islamic nations” will experience great increase in conversions and the Body of Christ will grow massively, across tribes and races.
Understanding the season is key to maximizing it. It is Harvest Season! It will be very wise for Churches and Ministries to be very Missions conscious especially now, because God’s best resources and manifestations will follow Agencies, Ministries, Churches and Individuals that will MOVE massively through the windows that are opening up for Missions across the nations of the earth. You have a commitment to see your workplace as your field, and harvest it for Jesus. No one is left out!
I hear the Spirit of God say, “the days of scarcity and lack in Missions are over. The field is white and the resources are plenty. Those who labour on the field for souls will equally enjoy the harvest of resources”.
As a young missionary, I can clearly affirm that certain evangelistic strategies will do well for reaching certain tribes better than others. It could also be true to conclude that certain people groups can be “tough” to reach. However, one thing is certain from Revelations 14:16, Jesus, the Lord of the harvest will be reaping the entire earth. Wherever He has placed you or sent you, He will put the Sickle (Strategy) needed for that field in your hands. The question is, “are you ready for the harvest before you?”
The Gospel of Jesus is the same but the entry point into various mission fields will differ. This same Gospel will have to be introduced differently to different people groups in order to initiate acceptance. Whatever the situation, wherever the LORD sends you, and whatever the history of the field; the secret to take the full harvest is LOVE. The one Kingdom virtue that has capacity to reach any people group is Love; it is recommended for God, Deut. 6:5; it should be made bountifully available to humanity, Matt. 22:39; and it should not be withheld from even our enemies, Matt. 5:43-45.
Love means various things to various people. It means food to the hungry, feed them. Love means visit and care to the imprisoned, visit them and speak up for them. Love means clothing for the naked, cloth them. Love means financial aid for those in need, support them. Having done the necessary prayer works, identify the needs of the people in your field and “Love” them. They will accept the Gospel of Jesus that you present following your proof of love. The earth is in great need especially in these last days, people have serious battles they are facing, identify the needs in your field, they are your entry points. Go in with Love, they will accept Jesus!
The matter of loving God is not new to many believers, even though many do not yet fully practise this, much less, loving your neighbour as yourself and then loving your enemies.
